    So sorry to hear about your frustrations. Please do persevere, you are really getting through this well. Once the car is sorted it will stay sorted. Mine is now over 215k km and it is giving me no problems at all.

    What are those dished wheels spec wise and brand? they're beautiful. Looking to buy a 964 C4 next year all being well, whether I stick or twist and buy from Europe (british) and take the costs or try and source one here. LHD is better position wise for them so that's not an issue, it's more as you rightly mentioned, finding the right car at the right price.

      Thanks for your comment and good luck finding your dream car. I'm pretty much convinced that nobody will be able to find a car that needs no work to it. I guess there will not be a perfect car for sale out there. Regarding the specs of the wheels, they are 8,5x18 ET46 with a 215/40 and 10x18 ET40 with a 255/35

      @@lxapproduction I fully agree! luckily I have a good workshop as I'm big into vintage harleys so know my way around! ah those wheels are 2 piece no? I've not seem them before but they look amazing! patience is key to finding the right one, I just wish we were still part of the EU so I could go about getting one in Europe more easily!!

      @@Rhysmoreton trust me I feel exactly the same! The 964 community ober hereis amazing, but you guys have so many awesome aftermaket parts for them, but shipping costs and taxes have pretty much ruined the market for me. The wheels are 3-piece actually. There are similar ones as 2-piece (much chraper option) and there even are monoblock ones from Keskin? That look very similar, and are even less expensive ✌️

    I had several expensive bits fail on the climate control on my ‘93. They’re old cars, so it’s hard to complain about a blower motor failing after 30 years. Overall I still love the 964, and haven’t found any other classic weekend car I would enjoy or trust more. You can’t really replace it. I will add that Porsche Classic actually still offers spares for these older 911s, so I’ve not encountered any issues that couldn’t be resolved.

      Hi Jon, You are absolutely right, but regarding the blower motor, I'm on my third set in 2 years which were finally correctly installed, so that's why I was a bit pissed ^^ The Porsche department for replacement parts is the main argument why I absolutely enjoy and love the brand. My problem is that I have lost trust in companies for jobs I had to do by a third party. I guess my problem is that I am very picky and emotional about my cars, I've always been, and considering how much money I've already spent over the last 2 years (>30.000€) , I get upset very easily when people don't respect your property. For them it might just be any other car, but for you it's your one and only. I only had one issue that couldn't be solved right away, and that was regarding the ABS high pressure pump which was not available at Porsche. Thank you for your comment ^^

      @@lxapproduction I understand the emotional component -- my wife likes getting new cars often, but I'm quite attached to my 964 and plan to have it as long as I can drive. I'm fortunate to have found a terrific Porsche Classic tech who has owned 964s and rebuilt his own gearbox over the weekend. He knows these cars down to the last bolt, and is very detail-oriented. Granted most techs aren't at that level...

    Hi I would go for the ISV, (Idle stabilizer valve) for your engine trouble. I saw that another guy adviced also the same. Unfortunately this expensive part do not specifically need to be replaced but simply cleaned with ultra sonic device. A pity that you bought a new one... Concerning the tank refill it is very known that you have to twist upside down the gas hose... No other way to avoid that... If you plan to repaint your front bumper don't miss to put back in shape the lower grid of the bumper which in your case, "doesnt smile" the right way :). Finally for the cruise controle knob as far as I remember, If you remove your steering wheel and the cover of the full mechanism of lights and blinkers, you can tight a little screw that holds your cruise control knob. Agree with you that no professional is trustable... and it's a real issue... This is why as far as I can do, I do it myself... and if I can't, I learn how to do... Best for the rest...

      Hey. I've already replaced the idle motor but since I'm working on replacing the starter motor right now, I didn't get the chance to check whether it made any changes or not. A friend of mine from Australia said it would be best to replace them, since they are not that expensive. I will not throw the old one away, but I also don't want to have any sort of selfmade problems in the near futur, or having to clean it every other month or so. Yeah the refilling is bad, but at least knowing that I'm not the only one is reassuring :) Thanks. About the front bumper, I know, my cars "grun" in bad, but my lower grill is also broken. I've put it on the list of things to be done ^^ For now, I focus on the technical bits on the car and maybe tackle the esthetics during the winter months. Thanks for your comment.

Everything is about to know what you consider expensive or not, but I do consider it is... :) Specially if you can avoid to spend such money by cleaning it... lesson to learn. It's really easier to change for new when possible but often it's not the only cause or the real cause of the troubleshootings...

      Trust me, I would consider 640€ plus shipping extremely expensive, I'm nowhere near as wealthy as to say that amount would be cheap. I got an aftermarket one for 153€ at FVD.net www.fvd.net/de-de/96460616000EQ/96460616000-leerlaufsteller-964-89-94-944-85-91.html I haven't read about it being possible to clean it, because then I would have started with that. I always try to refurbish first, and if it doesn't work out, replacing it with the best value for the price. Regarding the troubleshooting, I've checked the vacuum lines first, then a possible air leak on the intake, and the next "cheapest" solution would be the ISV. Some comments also say that with the light flywheel, even a new ISV wouldn't change anything, and I would need to change the chip in the ECU to make it understand what's going on with the flywheel. That would be the next step then, but THAT's very expensive and comes at a cost of 2500€! And that's absolutely out of my budget for now.

    I understand the frustration. It’s hard to trust anyone especially when the knowledge on these cars is fading from the world. Regarding the car dying clutch in, could be the vacuum lines like you said, could be the ICV like you said you bought a new one. But also like you said the lightweight flywheel. Make sure your ecu chip is tuned specifically for a light flywheel. Regarding the gas nozzle stopping prematurely during fill up. All 964’s owners go through this. Some pump design work better than others. But the trick is to turn the nozzle a full 180 degrees. So the hose going into the nozzle is vertical and sticking straight in the air. The issue is the tight bend in the fuel hose feeding into the tank. The effect of pressure change which normally cancels the full up is amplified by the design of the 964 hose/tank. This is somewhat defeated when the nozzle is straight up in the air.

      Fading knowledge, that's what's so sad about classic cars. I think the vacuum lines are now fixed, and I've replaced the ICV in the meantime. Because I'm working on replacing the starter motor too, I didn't get to test whether the problem is now solved or not, but it can't possible be worse than before. I know about a performance upgrade that goes together with the installation of a light flywheel, but that comes at a cost of 2500€, and that's not something I was planning on doing just yet. I've tried the 180°, but then it spits out even more fuel. I'm currently "happy" with a 90" twist HAHA Funny how so many 964 owners have the same issues. At least its reassuring that I'm not the only one :)

    Going through exactly the same issues as you. Both my rear heater boxes were stuck. Managed to take them apart, sort out the flappers and refit them….but broke one of the holding studs on each side and found a solution to that. The rhs blower fan on my 89 car fell out after I had changed it. I think because it doesn’t have the retaining screws of the later models and the plastic clips were worn. Fitted self tappers and fingers crossed.

      A retsining screw would be really really helpfull 😬 I have a broken clip on the heater box, so it really is a question of time until it will fall out again

    I had a similar issue with the engine cutting out on my 964. After I cleaned the idle control valve (very easy to do yourself) the problem went away.

      I bought a new one, will fix it this weekend! I also got the single mass flywheel, maybe that’s the main cause, but I’ll still replace it in order to exclude every other probable errors in the system

      ​@@lxapproductionhave you also checked the mass air flow meter? I still think the key culprits are being identified by you from isv to vacuum leak to light weight fly wheel. Swap back to the stock dual mass.

      Thank you, appreciate it. Before, definitely the very bad experience with the seller because he was/is a major douche! After, the fact that I had to rebuild the engine almot instantly and right after getting it back after 8 months, the fact that I had problems with the brakes that weren't there before. It is the feeling of not being able to trust anyone anymore that makes those 3 situations worth mentioning!

      @@lxapproduction gah! So not were there mechanical problems but you had to deal with difficult people 🤦. What was wrong with the engine that warranted a full rebuild? I can see why you said maintenance and repairs will probably cost 1/2 of the purchase price 😅 Still, the car looks absolutely stunning and I’m sure you’re enjoying it a lot on the roads.

    I Love the CUP wheels ❣️ For me, my all time favorite wheel 😃 On a VW T3 Bus the Porsche Cup wheels looks so beautyful too 👌🏼 End of the 90's a lot of T3 Bus runs on Cup wheels. Sad that I never had one.

      Thank you so much. I've added the part list to the video description. Watch out for the different part numbers that may differ depending on your cars construction year. Also, you might need some other bits and pieces, depending on the general state of the car. Shrouds, screws, seals, joints, etc. Finally, I want to clarify that the bigger parts, such as the condensator, the fan, the heat exchanger, etc. were not bought OEM hence the Porsche price tag :)

      They are 3-piece RH Cup wheels, so not OEM Turbos. Specs are 9x18 ET46 and 10x18 ET40

      @Elberoth nope. The tires are 215/40 and 255/35. And that’s pretty much as wide as you can go at that ride heigth

    We went there for the first time this year, also on Saturday. There were so many people from Luxembourg, insane. Even on the road from Luxembourg to Spa the road was full of Porsches 🤭. Once at Spa the amount of Porsches just made me dizzy 😆 but I loved it. I think I saw every model I ever wanted to see, with small exceptions. I was wondering if I would see an S/T and lo and behold, at one of our returns to our car, right next to it was the gorgeous S/T. Anyway, even with this the highlight for me was the tours I did on board of an GT3 (a 992). Nothing beats this. Excellent video and editing. It made me remember everything and you car is beautiful 😍

You are right, and your contribution sums up the impression of probably most of the visitors ^^ We were there quite early, so we unfortunately didn't meet any other Porsches on the way there. One thing is for sure though, this event is already marked on my calander for 2025!

We were parked almost at the end of the upper parking lot, you can see our car right next to the S/T in your picture of it, so we were quite far away.       Good luck then! 😅 You just arrive at a point on your journey where there is no turning back, and that’s what the decision to mend a broken engine stud was flr me. Rescuing the car was my mission from that moment on.

      Thank you. Well you can put 18" on in Luxembourg, but they need to have some Tüv papers which those BBS RS don't have. 18" BBS RS don't exist, so they have been stepped-up from a 16" or 17" center, but as soon as you change diametres, Tüv extincts.

      @@lxapproduction one top added value of Porsche is the availability of the parts (i ride also a E500 Merco..and have a lot problem with availability of the parts (missing without delivery date ))..minus point is the price of the original Porsche parts..

      @ConceptMagasin that’s 100% correct! You pay for them having all at your disposal, but they try to keep them rooling which is a very importsnt asset. I also own a Mk2 Golf, and it’s harder to find parts for that one than it is to find for the Porsche 🤣

      Thanks buddy. It’s not turbo though. The plate is out of a Mercedes I believe. It came with the car when I bought it

      True 😅 but maybe the term "buyers guide" is wrong, and it should be called "7 tips on how to choose your perfect 964". There are many videos out there talking about "everything you need to know about the 911", but since I am far from being an 911 or 964 expect, I wanted to leave it to these enthusiasts to teach us.     This Stonegrey 964 C2 from Elferliebe I bought last year on 31st of March. I arrived at 15:00 on 30rd of March for this car. That‘s so funny, seeing it now 😅

      Wow what a coincidence 🤣 I was there on 16th of March. Wasn't there for long then. I was so pissed when I saw the price tag on that car, especially for a C2, but the state of the paint was not brilliant if I remember correctly. Still, an amazing spec. Where are you from then?

      😊 yeah that‘s right, but you can‘t buy a perfect car below 100 k now. So there a compromisses when you want to buy a 964. And many problems you see only when you strip down the car completely. Also the „good ones“ may have many hidden problems. I am from Austria.

      @@SignorEber Have you started looking for possible faults on yours? I remember it also being an early model without an airbag? I don't know if you watched the other videos too, but mine looked perfect from the outside, but is all rotten from the inside! There is always something with this car. Even when you think you did things perfectly, there always something else... 😅
